This Piece was inspired by the Great James Baldwin. I wanted to embody the works he creates through his writings centering black queer communities and themes of Pan-Africanism through the color palette and patterns of the traditional masks from both tribes of my family (The Téké and Punu tribes of the Congo region). This print is an 11 x 17 and was done during my time in my Multi Studio II class and in my Intro to Africana Studies.
