Malleable is an engaging book that celebrates the diversity of black hair through captivating photography and design. The book's core message is to showcase the remarkable range of black hair types, lengths, patterns, and individual styles, challenging stereotypes and misconceptions.
In addition to celebrating black hair's beauty and versatility, I've incorporated the Crown Act into my project. The Crown Act is a pivotal piece of legislation aimed at ending hair discrimination in the United States. By raising awareness of the Crown Act and its impact on millions of people, my project serves as a visual advocacy tool, highlighting the importance of inclusive and respectful attitudes toward black hair. Through collage art and storytelling, I hope to foster a deeper appreciation for diverse hair textures while contributing to the ongoing conversation about equity and representation in our society.
